Forest Wagner, Program Director, Outdoor Studies Forest has worked in outdoor education since 2004, guided professionally in the outdoor industry since 2003, and finds employment, when not teaching at the University of Alaska Southeast, on the high peaks of Alaska and internationally. Along with working and teaching in outdoor education, Forest enjoys personal outdoor adventures described by ascent-based activities such as alpine climbing, descent-based activities such as paddling and skiing, and land and ocean travel that articulates an underlying interest in being out on the land (as much as possible). Born and raised in Alaska, Forest's academic interests focus generally on understandings of the north; he is currently working on perceptions of northern identity and motivations for human travel/wandering, and also understandings of climate change.

Shea has been a guide and outdoor educator since 1998 when he started leading kayak tours along the Baja peninsula. He has since gone onto lead rock climbing, ice climbing, canyoneering, backpacking, and whitewater trips throughout the western United States. An avid paddler, skier, and climber, Shea enjoys exploring under his own power. He has trekked in the Peruvian Andes, paddled the Pacific coast of Baja in winter, and survived skiing before dawn with Ray.
Currently, he manages the climbing wall, intramural/outdoor program, and front desk staff at the UAS Student Recreation Center. He's also an adjunct ODS faculty member. In his spare time he likes to explore the backcountry around Juneau and nearby in the Yukon and British Columbia.
